    2 Hours | Ages 8+
    Perfect for complete beginners to intermediate surfers, taught in small groups at Saunton Sands.

    If only 1 or 2 surfers booked - The duration is 1.5hrs instead of 2hrs

What to expect

UPON ARRIVAL

Please arrive 20 minutes before the lesson start time, to be greeted by the team, meet you instructor(s) and suit up.

Find our hut at the top of the beach slipway, just a few steps from Saunton Sands beach.

Indoor changing and storage available.

SURF LESSON

All equipment included - high-quality wetsuit gear and a wide variety of surfboards for all ages and abilities.

10-15-minute beach talk before going into the sea - covering: ocean safety and awareness, equipment, and all relevant surf techniques and skills.

In-water tuition: Instructors observe and coach during your surf to provide help and support for progression.

FACILITIES

Large car park with quick beach access.
On-site toilets, showers and water refill point.

Beach shop, cafe and restaurant
Beach hut rentals during peak season are available.

Short walk to local route bus stop and South West Coast path

Walking on Waves offers a range of surf lessons at Saunton Sands, suitable for all ages and abilities. Whether you’re learning to surf for the first time, building confidence, or looking to progress your skills, our experienced instructors provide safe, supportive coaching in one of North Devon’s best surfing locations.

All lessons are taught by ISA-qualified instructors with National Vocational Beach Lifeguard qualifications, so you can focus on enjoying your time in the water.
